    Continue to bank at your local branch, with the same friendly, professional banking staff. Sterling branch offices will now serve you as EverBank financial centers, open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (PT).

There have been no changes to your:

  • Profile information: Your name, date of birth, address and phone number have transferred to the EverBank system.
  • Account numbers: Your accounts have retained the same account numbers.
  • Interest rates: Our goal is to keep interest rates the same or similar for your current interest-bearing accounts.
  • Overdraft protection: No interruption in coverage. Plus, there are no fees for the service and no overdraft or insufficient funds (NSF) fees.
  • Direct deposit: If you have money directly deposited into your account, such as Social Security, payroll or other regular payments, your service will continue uninterrupted.
  • Statements to date: Your final Sterling statement will reflect activity through Friday, September 5. Your first EverBank statement will reflect activity from Saturday, September 6, to the end of your regular statement cycle. You also have access to two years of historical account documents.
  • Historic tax documents: You have access to two years of historical tax documents.

  1. Head to everbank.com/register

    Start by verifying who you are by telling us your name, date of birth and Social Security Number. We’ll also need an active account number and type.

  2. Create a user ID and password

    Follow the prompts to create your user ID and password. This information does not need to be the same as your previous Sterling information.

  3. Log in to online banking

    Once registration is complete you will be able to log in using your newly created credentials.

  4. Complete the security verification

    Choose whether to receive your one-time passcode by voice call or text message.

  5. Accept the Online Banking Terms and Conditions

    Review and accept EverBank’s eSign Agreement and Online Banking Service Agreement.

Getting started

You can register for online banking at everbank.com/register or through the EverBank mobile app. Whichever way you choose, be prepared to enter the following information:

  • Your name
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security number
  • At least one of your account numbers and the associated account type

If you are already registered for online banking and have downloaded the EverBank mobile app, use the same credentials you use to log in to online banking.

If you have not registered for online banking, download the mobile app and follow the in-app links to register. You will need the following information: name, date of birth, Social Security number, and at least one of your account numbers and the associated account type.

Yes, if you’ve used your Sterling debit card in the past six months, you should have received a new EverBank Visa® debit card prior to the transition. You should activate and begin using your new card beginning Monday, September 8. Your Sterling debit card will no longer work after Sunday, September 7.  

Yes, for the time being, you can use your same checks, and we will continue to accept and process them as usual. You can, if you wish, order new EverBank checks beginning September 8. Order your checks at your financial center or by logging into your account online. You will find many options to choose from, including over 40 free designs.

Your transition experience

Yes, your new EverBank accounts will be accessible through online and mobile banking once you have registered at everbank.com/register. Please note that the following items will not automatically transfer to the EverBank platform:

  • Account nicknames
  • Enrollment in online services like bill pay, alerts and money movement options
  • Paper delivery preferences
  • Linked external accounts
  • Bill pay payees and payments

Once registered at EverBank, you can customize your experience to your personal preferences.

No, any transfers or online bill payments you previously set up at Sterling that were scheduled to occur on or after Saturday, September 6, did not transfer to EverBank.

Once you have accessed EverBank online banking, you’ll need to re-establish these services.

Yes, your accounts will continue to be insured for up to the $250,000 deposit limit per depositor, per bank, for each account ownership category. If you previously had accounts at both Sterling and EverBank, your accounts will generally continue to be insured separately until October 1, 2025.

Beginning Monday, September 8, you can log in at everbank.com as you normally would, using your EverBank user ID and password. You’ll be able to access your current EverBank accounts immediately. It may take up to a week for your former Sterling accounts to be accessible at everbank.com. If you need any account statements or transaction information, please contact us or visit your local financial center.

Security

Account security is our top priority so that you can bank with confidence. We utilize a multi-layered approach to help protect you against fraud, including strong encryption technology, account number masking and two-factor authentication, which can help stop unauthorized access to your account. We also monitor data to detect fraud or suspicious activity. If we notice suspicious activity on your account, we may contact you by phone, text, email, or mail to confirm that transactions are valid. To learn more, visit our Security Center.

No, EverBank will NEVER call, text or email you for your login credentials or one-time passcode. If you have received a request to provide these details, or you suspect any unauthorized account activity, please contact Sterling Bank at 1.800.944.2265.

Your home loans

That’s correct. EverBank is partnered with LoanCare, a leading national mortgage servicer. This means your home loan will now be serviced by a company with a reputation for outstanding client service and technical innovation.

Once your loan transfers, you will have multiple convenient payment options available through LoanCare, including making payments online, mailing a check, or calling 1.844.436.0374.  If you previously set up auto draft payments for your mortgage, those will not be interrupted. However, there may be a one-time delay in drafting due to the timing of the transfer. After the transfer, please confirm your payment was processed by LoanCare.

Your commercial loans

That's correct. Beginning June 1, all loan payments should be made directly to EverBank. If you previously made your payments via ACH or auto-draft, those will not be interrupted.  We do ask that you confirm with your bank that the payment was successfully processed to EverBank.

You also have the option to make your payment by mailing a check or sending a wire transfer.
