Continue to bank at your local branch, with the same friendly, professional banking staff. In September, Sterling branch offices will become EverBank financial centers, open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (PT).
- Telephone assistance
Our dedicated client support team is ready to assist you. Call 1.888.882.3837, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (ET) and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (ET). Self-service automated telephone banking is available 24/7.
For transaction related assistance through Friday, September 5, please contact the Sterling support team at 1.800.944.2265.
There will be no changes to your:
- Profile information: Your name, date of birth, address and phone number will transfer to the EverBank system.
- Account numbers: Your accounts will retain the same account numbers.
- Interest rates: Our goal is to keep interest rates the same or similar for your current interest-bearing accounts.
- Overdraft protection: No interruption in coverage. Plus, there are no fees for the service and no overdraft or insufficient funds (NSF) fees.
- Direct deposit: If you have money directly deposited into your account, such as Social Security, payroll or other regular payments, your service will continue uninterrupted at this time.
- Statements to date: Your final Sterling statement will reflect activity through Friday, September 5. Your first EverBank statement will reflect activity from Saturday, September 6 to the end of your regular statement cycle. You will have access to two years of historical account documents.
- Historic tax documents: You will have access to two years of historical tax documents.
Take note of these key changes
As you transition to becoming an EverBank client, you can expect the following:
- New account names
You will receive a welcome package in in the mail with a letter listing the updated names of your accounts.
- New routing numbers
The EverBank routing number is 063092110. For inbound wires, our ABA routing number is 063000225.
- New debit cards
You will receive a new debit card in the mail prior to September 8. Do not activate or use this card until September 8.
- New checks
Beginning September 8, you can order new EverBank checks at your financial center or by logging into your account online.
- Previous transaction history
You will not see historical Sterling transaction history in the EverBank online platform. However, historical statements will be available for up to two years.
New online and mobile banking
Please note that the following items will not automatically transfer to the EverBank platform:
- Account nicknames
- Enrollment in online services like bill pay, alerts and money movement options
- Paper delivery preferences
- Linked external accounts
- Bill pay payees and payments

Looking ahead
Yes, the Sterling name will change to EverBank in September. At the same time, Sterling branch locations will become known as EverBank financial centers. You will continue to be served by the same great people you have come to know and trust.
Yes, there will be a new online banking platform that will help you bank smarter, on your time and on the go. If you currently use Sterling Online Banking, your online banking service will not transfer automatically to EverBank. Watch for email communications with step-by-step instructions for getting started and logging in for the first time.
Yes, your accounts will continue to be insured for up to the $250,000 deposit limit per depositor, per bank, for each account ownership category. If you happen to have accounts at both Sterling and EverBank, your accounts will generally continue to be insured separately until October, 1 2025.
Monday, September 8 is the first day we’ll begin to serve you as EverBank. Your accounts and services will transfer to EverBank over the weekend of September 6 and 7. Sterling online, mobile and voice banking will be unavailable beginning Friday, September 5 at 1 p.m. (ET) to the morning of Monday, September 8. If you need immediate assistance on Friday, September 5, please visit your local financial center.
We want to be sure you receive all the information we send to you, whether by mail or email. So please take a moment to confirm your contact information on your account profile so that we can keep in touch with you. Other than that, just keep banking as usual.
Your transition experience
You can register for EverBank online and mobile banking beginning the morning of Monday, September 8. Keep in mind that Sterling online and mobile banking will no longer be available as of 1 p.m. (ET) on Friday, September 5.
Yes, your new EverBank accounts will be accessible through online and mobile banking once you have registered at everbank.com. Please note that the following items will not automatically transfer to the EverBank platform:

Yes, any transfers or online bill payments you currently have set up at Sterling and scheduled to occur on or after Saturday, September 6, will not transfer to EverBank.
Once you have accessed EverBank online banking, you’ll need to re-establish these services.
Continue using your Sterling mobile app until the morning of September 5. It will not work after this time so please be sure to delete it. On Monday, September 8, download and start using the new EverBank mobile banking app (only available in the U.S.).
On Monday, September 8, you can log in at everbank.com as you normally would, using your EverBank user ID and password. You’ll be able to access your current EverBank accounts immediately. It may take up to a week for your former Sterling accounts to be accessible at everbank.com. If you need any account statements or transaction information, please contact us or visit your local financial center.
Day-to-day banking
Yes, if you’ve used your Sterling debit card in the past six months, you’ll be sent a new EverBank Visa® debit card prior to the transition. You should activate and begin using your new card beginning Monday, September 8. Your Sterling debit card will no longer work after Sunday, September 7.
Yes, for the time being, you can use your same checks, and we will continue to accept and process them as usual. You can, if you wish, order new EverBank checks beginning September 8. Order your checks at your financial center or by logging into your account online. You will find many options to choose from, including over 40 free designs.

Security
Account security is our top priority so that you can bank with confidence. We utilize a multi-layered approach to help protect you against fraud, including strong encryption technology, account number masking and two-factor authentication, which can help stop unauthorized access to your account. We also monitor data to detect fraud or suspicious activity. If we notice suspicious activity on your account, we may contact you by phone, text, email, or mail to confirm that transactions are valid. To learn more, visit our Security Center.
No, EverBank will NEVER call, text or email you for your login credentials or one-time passcode. If you have received a request to provide these details, or you suspect any unauthorized account activity, please contact Sterling Bank at 1.800.944.2265.
Your home loans
That’s correct. EverBank is partnered with LoanCare, a leading national mortgage servicer. This means your home loan will now be serviced by a company with a reputation for outstanding client service and technical innovation.
Once your loan transfers, you will have multiple convenient payment options available through LoanCare, including making payments online, mailing a check, or calling 1.844.436.0374. If you previously setup auto draft payments for your mortgage, those will not be interrupted. However, there may be a one-time delay in drafting due to the timing of the transfer. After the transfer, please confirm your payment was processed by LoanCare.

Your commercial loans
That's correct. Beginning June 1, all loan payments should be made directly to EverBank. If you previously made your payments via ACH or auto-draft, those will not be interrupted. We do ask that you confirm with your bank that the payment was successfully processed to EverBank.
You also have the option to make your payment by mailing a check or sending a wire transfer.
